About this Site: God’s Gift of Verse
First, a bit about me. I began my Christian life in high school, and by my early twenties I was writing Christian hymns and songs, which I continued for almost another two decades. Many of those hymns and songs are still being sung today in churches around the world.
Then, in 2023, my poetic work was revived as I began working with Arabella Penrose, author of Christian children’s books.
So, over many years, I have grown to appreciate what I call God’s gift of verse. But what do I mean by that?
First, it denotes the poetry that God gives us, either directly in the Scriptures or through Christian poets throughout the ages, even today.
It also refers to the spiritual talent that God gives to those who compose poems, hymns, and spiritual songs. So, the poetry itself is a gift, and the talent to write it is also a gift.
This website gives me a way to share my appreciation for God’s gift of verse and the insights I have gained:
The experiences of those who, through the ages, wrote beautiful verse that conveys God’s truth and continues to inspire us.
Insights into God’s Word that Arabella and I have received in writing the poetry in her Christian children’s books.
Some of the songs and hymns I and others have written over the years, some never before published. This also includes some by my poetry mentor, Ned Nossaman, with whom I am still collaborating today.
